Description du poste

  • The engineering project is charged with the development of a downhole tool to be used for resistivity evaluation in the Oil and Gas Industry.

  • The tool is equipped with an antennas forcing electrical current in the formation, and button electrodes measuring the response.

  • The button electrodes are tied to an electronic front end in charge of reshaping and amplifying the signal.

  • A digital converter, controlled by an FPGA, acquires the output signal and makes it available for further digital processing inside a micro-controller.

  • The goal of the project is to change the frequency of the current emitted by the antennas.


Key Responsibilities

  • Redesign of the current acquisition boards:

    • Upgrade analog filters on the current generation side to accept the new frequency with minimal losses

    • Upgrade analog filters for the signal acquisition

  • Characterization of the antenna response with the new frequency

  • Interact with firmware engineer for frequency generation and ADC timing

  • Upgrade the digital waveform generation to the new frequency

  • Change the acquisition timing and sampling rate to match with the new frequency

  • Interact with Electrical engineer for the analog signal acquisition

  • Development on Microcontrollers / DSP (nice to have TI DSP)
